Green Your Halloween
One of my favorite lensmasters, Comfortdoc, has written an excellent lens on how to Green Your Halloween. This lens, in fact is extremely complete with lots of green Halloween resources for anyone who wants to have a healthier Halloween this year.
Here is just one small section of this article:
Tips to Reuse at Halloween
1. Costumes
Create your costume reusing your own clothes, thrift store clothes or clothes that have been stored by other family members. (The attic or storage is a great place to find Halloween costumes)
If buying clothes for a costume pick or create costumes with items that can be reused.
2. Trick or Treating Bags
This Halloween Trick or Treating Bags are being made that can be reused as shopping bags. (Or shopping bags are being made that can double as trick or treating bags.)
3. Decorations
If buying decorations, look for energy efficient lights and decorations that can be reused for several years.
Reuse Halloween decorations the same way that Christmas ornaments are reused from year-to-year.
4. Party Supplies
Use reusable utensils, plates, napkins and tablecloths instead of disposable ones.
Use reusable anatomical or candy molds year to year to create scary looking foods.
Do you find this useful? Then go straight to the lens for more great Green Your Halloween information.

Recycle & Reconstruct Old Clothes Into a Fashionable Wardrobe
In the current economy, saving money and making things last longer is something that we all are doing. And why not? If we can learn to make more with less that just leaves more for us later to use on vacations, and investments.
One of the ways we can save is to Upcycle Old Clothes Into Something New according to enslavedbyfaeries. If we can take the old clothes that we already own, and make them into new fashionable designs, we can save money and have fun at the same time.
"Clothes go in and out of style, get damaged and worn, but it's ecologically correct to reuse and recycle everything we can. Sometimes we even want to hold on to certain items because we love the patterns and textures of the fabric. There are lots of ways to transform, alter, embellish and reconstruct old clothes into a fashionable and trendy wardrobe. With a little imagination and creativity you can even make cute stuffies, toys, dolls, pillows, totes, quilts and more!"

New Uses for Green Tea Leaves

Okay, I have to admit that I am not a tea drinker. If you read enough of my articles, you will figure out that I am wholeheartedly a coffee hound.
BUT, I had to highlight this article about New and Creative Uses for Green Tea Leaves when I saw it. These are ideas that I wouldn't have thought of on my own, and I bet you haven't either. Maybe I can come to like tea after all?
Lady Mermaid has some great ideas here. I just love the idea of using tea leaves as potpourri. I do not like the flowery smells of most potpourri, tea would smell so much better and fresher. So here is the link to her article New and Creative Uses for Green Tea Leaves. Please check it out.

Johann the Dog has a lot to tell us about how to Raise a Green Dog! So much so, in fact, that it outgrew his lens (Woof!) and expanded to an entire website called, yep, you guessed it, Raise a Green Dog.
I didn't even know dogs could write lenses, and here is one telling us how to live green. Who knew?! This a terrific site with loads of information for keeping your pet healthier, and saving the world one dog at a time.
